Abstract
- The article presents a response to the essay "Individuality, Equality, and Creative Democracy -- the Task Before Us," by Jim Garrison which critiques the standardization of U.S. education reforms. The author argues that standardized tests identify proficiency, believes that the U.S. legislation No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act is important to many students, and suggests that state standards do not pose a threat to individuality.
