Abstract

Work-related accidents involve significant human and economic costs for the companies, people, and society. Said accidents usually represent a great negative economic impact for the construction industries, which support a higher cost than reflected due to the large amount of hidden variables are unknown. Until now, the evaluation of the costs generated by labor accidents has been based on the development of very different methods and, as Duran [1] has not made any kind of economic assessment that comprehensively considers the economic cost of damage to health associated with work, this paper present a mathematical model applicable to the Spain construction industry, that the cost of labor accidents, is the consumption of material and human resources derived from insurance, prevention and accidents.
