Abstract

The author comments on the article "How Implicit Motives and Everyday Self-Regulatory Abilities Shape Cardiovascular Risk in Youth," by Craig K. Ewart, Gavin J. Elder, and Joshua M. Smyth. The author says that the study has raised important questions on the psychological processes and content associated with cardiovascular diseases' psychological risk factors. She adds that the findings suggest the role of motivational goals in the prediction of ambulatory systolic blood pressure in adolescents.
