Abstract
- The article reports on Parliamentary Secretary Kellie Leitch's statement indicating that the federal government has no responsibility in drug shortage problem under the Constitution. Leitch suggests that the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and physicians are responsible in notifying patients on specific drug shortages in Canada. Meanwhile, CMA President John Haggie has countered Leitch's statement by emphasizing that provinces are responsible for drug purchasing but it is done in isolation.
