Reply to a ‘‘Comment on: ‘The vibrational relaxation of highly excited molecules’ ’’.

Lenzi et al’s comments on the number of photons absorbed by sulfur hexafluoride, and the subsequent transfer of energy to argon atoms are answered. It is suggested that the optoacoustic and the IR absorption measurements should be complimentary to each other.(AIP) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
