Abstract

Abstract: Morphology-controlled iron-based oxides, including Fe2O3, LaFeO3, NiFe2O4, ZnFe2O4, and CoFe2O4, were obtained using filter paper as a template. A thimble filter paper was soaked in ethylene glycol solution of metal nitrates, and the thimble filter paper–metal nitrate composite was calcined to form the desired iron-based oxides with morphology of thimble filter paper. Choice of ethylene glycol as a solvent and slow heating for removal of the paper template are crucial for maintaining the morphology of paper. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
