Strain enhanced exchange interaction between impurities in graphene

Abstract: We study the effect of strain on the exchange interaction between two magnetic impurities in graphene. We calculate the exchange integrals between the impurities using a Green function technique. The calculation results indicate that strain may remarkably enhance the exchange interaction between the impurities within small distance. We explain the micromechanism of generating this phenomenon.
