Abstract
- The article cites Martha and Mary as models of leadership in the Gospel of John. Mary and Martha are different leaders of two groups of believers in different stages of understanding, even as they are struggling to understand their own grief. Women in leadership positions must meet those Christians to whom they are preaching and teaching wherever they are in their journey.
