Abstract

Suppose &lt;f&gt;G&lt;/f&gt; is a series-parallel graph. We prove that if &lt;f&gt;G&lt;/f&gt; has odd girth at least &lt;f&gt;6k−1&lt;/f&gt; then &lt;f&gt;χc(G)⩽8k/(4k−1);&lt;/f&gt; if &lt;f&gt;G&lt;/f&gt; has odd girth at least &lt;f&gt;6k+1&lt;/f&gt; then &lt;f&gt;χc(G)⩽(4k+1)/2k;&lt;/f&gt; if &lt;f&gt;G&lt;/f&gt; has odd girth at least &lt;f&gt;6k+3&lt;/f&gt; then &lt;f&gt;χc(G)⩽(4k+3)/(2k+1)&lt;/f&gt;.
