Abstract

The article presents a study that aims to identify the possible contribution of the educational intervention of general practitioners on the reduction of depression and self-harm behavior in older primary care patients. It notes that 373 Australian general practitioners and 21,762 of their patients aged 60 years or older took part of the study. Results unveiled that the educational intervention has no effect on the recovery of the patients, yet it prevented the onset of new cases.
