Diterpenoids and steroids from Gorgonian Subergorgia mollis.

The article presents a study which investigates the secondary metabolites and chemical constituents of Subergorgia mollis from South China Sea. The study used column chromatography and semi-preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Results show that through isolation, 10 compounds have showed antifouling activity including four rare 24-ketal steroids, three briarane-type diterpenoids, and three common steroids.
