Abstract

The article discusses whether it is possible to do business without email, looking at companies which have used software and technologies such as social networking, chat, and video to replace email. The article examines Genome, an intranet system developed by the marketing company Klick Health, as well as the social networking tools Yammer and Socialtext. The article also looks at technologies such as the file transfer service Dropbox, the chat software Campfire, and the scheduling tool Doodle.
