Respiratory tract infections: uncommon pathogens and misleading presentations.

Information about several topics discussed at a conference held March 15, 2012 organised by the British Thoracic Society and the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) on respiratory tract infections is presented. The topics included diagnosis and management of pneumonia due to Staphylococcus aureus, advances in diagnosis and treatment of Aspergillus infection and an update on pleural infection treatment. Several physicians and professors including Dr Mark Woodhead attended the conference.
