Abstract

The article presents the first formal record of Systropha for Saudi Arabia and expands the current documented distribution of S. androsthenes from Oman and the United Arab Emirates further in the Arabian Peninsula. The species were taken at flowers of the Convolvulus arvensis L. known locally as Ullaique. The material collected was compared with the holotype of S. androsthenes, one of four species in the genus where the male antenna has the apical flagellomeres modified. It is dramatically reduced with respect to the preceding flagellomeres and often forming a curled series.
