Abstract

The article discusses the use of umbilical cord blood (UCB) as an alternative source of stem cells for transplantation. It discusses the biology and functional features of CB immune cells. Clinical studies which examined immune reconstitution (IR) after cold blood transplantation (CBT) are examined. Also tackled are developments to improve IR.
