Abstract

The article discusses agriculture's growth trend as an asset class. It notes that agricultural investments should become more attractive to investors because of the global food problem. Fund managers say that Australia's retail investors remain hesitant in agriculture due to the failure of the tax-effective managed investment scheme. The article cites that foreign institutional investors have started buying Australian farmland at low rates under the Australian Agribusiness Group (AAG).
