Abstract

The isothermal equation of state of CeCu2Ge2 at 10 K has been studied up to 20 GPa in a diamond-anvil cell using angle-dispersive X-ray diffraction technique with a synchrotron source and an imaging plate detector. At 15.0±1.6 GPa, an anomalous contraction of the volume was observed while the crystal structure remained unchanged. Relevance of the result with the enhancement of the superconducting transition temperature reported in this vicinity is discussed. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
