Technical advances applied to e-commerce, have reduced costs of sales through the Internet, but criminals have been taking advantage of this technology, using it as way to commit unlawful actions. On the other hand, several countries seek to punish four basic behaviors: 1) computer fraud, 2) digital document forgery, 3) misleading advertising, and 4) personal data theft. That is the aim of this paper: the analysis of said crimes, in order to demonstrate that it is not necessary to adopt new laws, in order to punish the criminal behavior already condemned by the Uruguayan legal system.
