Abstract

The article provides information on the development of paper-based microfluidic devices by chemistry professor Marya Lieberman and graduate student Abigail Weave from the University of Notre Dame. It informs that on their visits to regional hospitals, they found that there is an urgent need of such devices helping purchasing agents to assess drug authenticity. It also informs that these devices have several lanes that detect certain functional groups including primary amines in pharmaceutical.
