Abstract

This paper proposes a numerical method to simulate hydrogen-assisted stress corrosion cracking, via coupled diffusion elastic-plastic finite element damage analyses based on phenomenological stress-modified fracture strain model. For validation, simulated results using the proposed method are compared with published experimental data of FeE 690T compact tension tests under air and hydrogen condition with various constant load-line displacement rates. The simulated results agree well with experimental data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
