Abstract

The article discusses a study to evaluate and compare strategies by many U.S. firms to promote and offer vaccination including vaccination clinics to prevent lost productivity due to influenza and their economic value. The study concluded that employer-sponsored influenza vaccination clinics are generally cost-saving and incremental costs were lower in larger firms, and when influenza was assumed to be more contagious, and when vaccine effectiveness was assumed to be higher.
