Abstract
- The article discusses a willingness among high-frequency trading firms in the U.S. to work with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to develop safeguards against incidents such as an August 1, 2012 software mishap that nearly destroyed brokerage firm Knight Capital Group Inc. A group of several high-frequency firms including Virtu Financial LLC and Getco LLC have proposed new technology standards.
