Abstract
- The author comments on a study "A consideration of severity is sufficient to focus our prevention efforts," by Langley and Cryer which asserts that it is unrealistic and counterproductive to try and prevent all childhood injury. He argues that it is impossible to predict consequences of most of the injuries. He opines that the author's whole argument is based on the assumption that the outcome of an injury event can be accurately predicted in all instances.
