HARCAMA GRUPLARININ ŞOK ETKİLERİNE VERİLEN ENFLASYONİST REAKSİYONLAR: TÜRKİYE ÜZERİNE UYGULAMA.

It is of crucial importance to know how the sub determinants of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Turkey give reaction to the external shock waves in the short and long term in order to be successful in the struggle against inflation as well as with the monetary policy strategies. In this paper, dynamic effects of unit shocks given to 12 sub-expenditure groups of the CPI index of Turkey is' analyzed by impulse response functions for the period 2003: 1 - 2011: 06. The first conclusion obtained from the study is that the index of food expenditure has affected the CPI index highly when compared with the other sub-expenditure groups. The second result is that an increase in transportation, food and entertainment expenditures has caused contraction of individual's entertainment expenses. Another conclusion we have reached is that health expenditures have affected the CPI much higher than was predicted by the Turkish Statistical Institute. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
