Abstract

In this paper, “Theory of Musics” which was written by Muallim Kâzim Uz in 1923, was examined. In this book, topics are researched from the view of theory of Western and Turkish musics. The book was written in Ottoman Turkish. In our research, topics will have been translated into Turkish. When the book, had been written in the crossing period to Republic, was examined, it is understood that Western culture has deep impact on Anatolia He also took some courses from Zekai Dede who has great composer of Classical Turkish Music. The book “Theory of Musics” shows that Muallim Kâzim is also expert of Musicology. Since the book has a great importance to understand that period and concept of musics, to analyse this book is essential. We also can state that theorich approuchs of book still remains important. It is also thought that the book can be an important source for whom researchs on musics theory and students who study in this field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
