Abstract

The article reports on the reaction of runners on the cancellation of New York City Marathon in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. It cites Raffaella Romazzotti, who took nine-hour flight to New York from Milan and became angry after knowing the marathon had been cancelled. It indicates the responses of thousand of runner who flew from other countries to the U.S. ranged from anger to disappointment to understanding to relief and disbelief.
