Abstract
- According to the global movements in sustainable development, European Parliament and Council amended Directive 76/769/EEC by Directive 2003/53/EC which prohibit, among other requirements, the marketing and use of cements and cement-containing preparations which, when hydrated, contain more than 0,0002 % of water-soluble hexavalent chromium, determined as percentage by mass of dry cement. This legislation is intended to minimize the occurrence of chromate-related allergic contact dermatitis arising from the use of cement or cement-containing preparations. The aim of this normative Annex to EN 196-10 is toprovide a scheme for the evaluation of compliance to the requirements in Directive 2003/53/EC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
