Management of Thumb Metacarpophalangeal Ulnar Collateral Ligament Injuries.

The article presents information on the management of thumb metacarpophalangeal ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injuries. It discusses long-term pain and functional limitations caused by untreated UCL injury of the thumb metacarpophalangeal joint (MCPJ). Recommendation of MCP arthrodesis is also considered as the treatment for chronic UCL insufficiency in the joints in which arthrosis is present.
