Abstract

Article continues to present the terms that refer to the book and the writing world as they appear in the Romanian Encyclopedia, written and edited by the Association for the Romanian Literature and Culture of the Romanian people (ASTRA) in Sibiu, between 1898-1904. The terms presented in this issue are: editor, paper, printing and typography. Considering the definition from the dictionary, the author includes a historical revue of each term defined with particular reference to the Romanian space as well as the definitions of the various personalities in the field. Basically, starting from the Encyclopedia's definitions, the article is meant to be an insight into the explanation of everything related to the four terms mentioned above. For example, the paper itself emphasizes the watermark, the format, the characteristics, and its components. In case of printing, the author recalls all major printers who lived and worked in the Romanian space. Reviewing the three volumes of the Romanian Encyclopedia one can see the whole process of how Romanian bibliology evolved and has been formed, emerging within the Romanian space of the early twentieth century.
