Abstract

The article focuses on the response of variable glaciers to atmospheric warming in northern Antarctic Peninsula from 1988-2009. It states that the precipitation-starved glaciers were affected by warming temperature and the reduce shrinkage on the western Peninsula might be a result of higher snowfall. It mentions that the slow rate of area loss was attributed to the floating ice tongues withdrawing into the fjords.
