Abstract
- The article examines metabolic and molecular effects of smoking cessation in human. It has been informed that cigarette smoking is related to insulin resistance as well as increased risk for type 2 diabetes. It has been stated that a study by researcher M.K. Hellerstein and colleagues found that cigarette smoking increases free fatty acid (FFA) and glycerol fluxes due to nicotine-induced lipolysis.
