Abstract

The author discusses the beginning of the so called Doolittle's Raid or the bombings of Tokyo, Japan in 1942. The author states that less is known on what has happened at the raid in Washington Navy Yard than those films "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" and "Pearl Harbor" depicting the USS Hornet's bombing on Japan. He adds that U.S. fleet admiral Ernest J. King has devised the idea on attacking Japan in January 1942 by launching army bombers through an aircraft carrier.
