Exporting Our Disorders.

The article discusses the addition of new disorders to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association (ASA). The callous and unemotional subtype of conduct disorder, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, gender dysphoria and pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder have been added to the manual. The proposed modifications to the manual include a cultural formulation interview (CFI). In addition, the article revisits the concept of ethnocentricity and the concept of depression in Japan.
