Abstract
- The article presents a literary criticism of the 1700 book "Fables," which comprises of a collection of translations of classical and medieval poetry by John Dryden. Particular focus is given to how Dryden's translations explore issues of materialism, the divine and life's impermanence. The poem "Of the Pythagorean Philosophy" is also discussed in detail.
