Abstract

The article discusses a study that addresses the problem of estimating range-varying parameters of the height-dependent refractivity over the sea surface from radar sea clutter. It shows that particle filter (PF) can be coupled with the split-step fourier parabolic equation (PE) solution to track range-varying refractive environments from radar sea clutter. It notes that the performances of PF-refractivity from clutter (RFC) algorithm are tested by both simulations and real data estimations.
