Abstract

The principal objective of this study is to provide a preliminarytheoretical foundation of academic librarye-service user motivation. To achieve this purpose, thisstudy attempts to develop and test an academic librarye-service user motivation model based on Vroom'sexpectancy theory and an e-service-related literaturereview. The study employed a survey method.The collected data was analyzed via correlation andmultiple regression method. The findings are that academiclibrary e-service users' motivational processis influenced by the following five factors: 1) Users'past experience with the library e-services; 2) E-servicequality; 3) Accomplishment/Performance of thee-service by user; 4) Outcomes; and 5) User satisfactionwith the e-service.
