Abstract

The article discusses the 78th International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) conference, in particular focusing on events of the Committee on Standards, held in Helsinki, Finland on August 11-17, 2012. Topics of the conference titled "Libraries now! Inspiring, Surprising, Empowering," included information technology, knowledge management, and indexing. The congress was attended by 4,100 library professionals from 114 nations.
