Abstract
- The article discusses tort reform laws and the scope of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) as of February 2013, focusing on the Tennessee General Assembly's reported circumscription of the private right of action under the TCPA. The state's Civil Justice Act of 2011 (Tort Reform Act) is addressed, along with unfair and deceptive trade practices under Section 47-18-104(b) of the TCPA. The Tennessee Supreme Court’s ruling in Myint v. Allstate Insurance Company is also mentioned.
