Problems of children with diabetes mellitus in school.

In the present work we conducted review of studies from the contemporary international bibliography regarding children of school age with diabetes mellitus in Greece. The present review revealed the abrupt changes emerging during the physical history of disease and the huge burden of demands that they impose on children especially in the school environment. Prompt recognition and dealing with the factors that affect the behavior of diabetic children at school as well as their coping up with their obligations at school both by schoolteachers and health providers, such as nurses, will significantly contribute in maintaining both physical and mental health in diabetic children.
