Abstract
- The article focuses on the study led by Wesley I. Sundquist from the University of Utah School of Medicine which identified the biochemical and structural basis for endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT)-III proteins. It mentions that the work reveals how ESCRT-III proteins bind independently to different sites on LIP5 to help recruit and promote the assembly of active VPS4 enzymes. It notes that the ESCRT-III and VPS4 ATPase catalyze membrane fission events.
