Abstract

Objectives: Conduct a rapprochement between Freudian works: "Constructions in analysis" and "Mourning and Melancholia" and from this work, analyze the object's location and identification processes involved, the role of the loss and the possibility of recovering in the analysis through flashbacks and / or memory, the lost, and so failed. Development: An insight in recent psychoanalytic approaches around the loss of the object-its flaws and failures, and their effects on the subject's narcissism. Conclusions: contemporary psychoanalytic approaches now include the importance of thinking as a potential loss, the non-representation of what did not happen for the subject, and their technical capabilities in the analysis.
