Abstract

The article reports on the harmful effects of city life on the mental health. Recent studies indicate that memory and attention can suffer in urban environments and city dwellers are more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression. Also, the risk of schizophrenia among them increases dramatically. Of all the factors, social stress is said to be especially harmful.
