OPTIMUM IGNITION TIMING CONTROL OF SI ENGINE USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS.

The article presents a study which examines the use of artificial neural networks (ANN) to optimize the ignition timing control of spark-ignition (SI) engines. Two ANN models are described which are based on Radial Basis Function and Local linear neuro-fuzzy model (LLNFM). A brief review of the thermodynamic fundamentals of combustion engine efficiency is offered.
