Abstract
- The aim of this study is to give information on the influence of the experimental conditions to estimate thermal diffusivity of carbon fiber reinforced β-SiAl ON ablative composite. Here, we present the inverse solution technique to estimate the parameter used to identify the effective thermal diffusivity. The transient temperature measurements, taken from the top surface and through the thickness of the samples in oxyacetylene flame test, are used in the inverse analysis. The results of this study clarify the mechanism of the ablation and thermal diffusivity of the β-SiAl ON-based composite heat shields due to the ultra high temperature ablation.
