Abstract

The article focuses on a prospective study to biometrically and molecularly characterize clinically diagnosed posterior microphthalmos. It mentions that the participants of this study underwent axial length measurement, corneal pachymetry and candidate gene analysis. The results indicated that corneal diameter decreases with decreasing axial length, suggesting posterior microphthalmos and nanophthalmos represent a spectrum of high hyperopia rather than distinct phenotypes.
