Abstract: The article discusses the strategic planning of mobile device chief J. K. Shin from Samsung Electronics Co. to promote sales of the Galaxy smartphone in the U.S. in 2013. Competition with computer company Apple Inc., smartphone prices, and the economic conditions in China and Europe are discussed, as well as legal issues regarding patents for mobile devices.
