Abstract
- The article presents research on dyeing poison frog, Dendrobates tinctorius (Dendrobatidae), found in Les Nouragues, French Guiana. The study characterizes nine D. tinctorius microsatellite loci and their utility in cross-species amplification in two other species, Oophaga pumilio and Allobates femoralis. It explores the significance of the research in the role of the nine loci in determining the mating strategies among the species, the evolution of mating systems among dendrabatoid frogs, and the population genetic structure in D. tinctorius.
