Abstract

The article discusses proposals for commercial manned space missions to Mars. Particular focus is given to the Mars One project by entrepreneur Bas Lansdorp, who plans to raise 6 million dollars for the equipment and mission by selling global reality television rights. It is noted that both Mars One and the Inspiration Mars mission project by investor Dennis Tito would use space flight capsules designed by SpaceX, a commercial space flight venture founded by Elon Musk.
