Abstract

The article profiles Benjamin J. Rhodes, a foreign policy adviser and speechwriter for U.S. President Barack Obama. Particular attention is given to Rhodes' influence on Obama and his advocacy for a more aggressive U.S. approach towards supporting Syrian rebel forces in that country's civil war. Information is also provided on Rhodes input on issues concerning U.S. foreign relations with Egypt and Myanmar, as well as on his career in politics since 2001.
