Abstract
- This section offers news briefs on the mining sector in South Africa as of October 2012. The Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference was held in Townsville, Queensland. A gas explosion at a coal mine in China registered a death toll of 41. Some 195 miners escaped a fire that broke out at a coal mine in Ukraine.
